The clubs Dynabros campaign is to create more awareness and help spot the signs of a low bro. In these challenging times, it can be harder than ever for lads to talk about their true feelings.
As a club we will encourage our members to learn and to look out for one another. To not be afraid to ask for help, and to make sure they have somewhere to turn in times of need.
Chairman Mike Borrett said, A recent event had a big impact on us. As a club made up of mainly male players and coaches, we are aware of how difficult it can be for lads to talk about their feelings. They may be too proud, too stubborn, or just feel scared. We want to promote the fact that we as a club care and that there are people to talk to. We want our coaches to log into online awareness courses to better understand the issues around mental health in young males. We want to create a culture in and around the club where we look out for each other. Where we aren't afraid to ask if someone needs to chat or for someone to feel comfortable to ask for help. DynaBros is all about being there and looking out for one another.
Committee members and senior players have already enrolled on a course to help recognise the symptoms of mental health and we will be encouraging as many people within the club to do the same.
