Both teams were unable to field a full five subs as the Cup takes its toll on teams, however, The Dynamos had a strong eleven to start the match. It was a tentative start by both teams with the first meaningful action from Emmanuel Gbejuade who crossed in and Lewis Workman controlled but his shot went harmlessly over. The same combination were involved again as another cross saw Lewis Workman head the cross over. A midfield battle and some mis-placed passes saw 20 minutes pass with minimal goalmouth action. Both Emmanuel Gbejuade and Junior Gyamfi had shots blocked as the half hour mark approached.
33 minutes and Alfi Touceda swept the ball out wide to Jake Baldwin who moved forward and crossed the ball into Kevin Owusu. He controlled the ball, picked his spot and side-footed a fantastic goal past the keeper. 1-0 Dynamos. Biggleswade then had a couple of half chances soon after with Dan McAteer making a great save and Luke Nugent blocking a shot on target.
42 minutes and Alfi Touceda again picked the ball up in midfield and sent a through ball to Dan Lambeth who did what he does best and beat the keeper to make it 2-0 to Dynamos.
Half time: Dynamos 2-0 Biggleswade Utd
54 minutes in and Biggleswade were pressurising the Dynamos goal, a speculative shot was saved by Dan McAteer, and then Terry Griffiths won a couple of headers to clear his lines as Biggleswade attacked. On the hour mark Dan Lambeth chested the ball down and set up Lewis Workman, he ran forward and hit his shot just wide of the mark. Moments later and Kevin Owusu picked up the ball and beat his man, passing inside to Jake Baldwin who hit a great shot inches over the bar. Biggleswade then put a long ball forward which eluded the Dynamos defence, as Dan McAteer came out, the attacker got a foot on it and lobbed him for a goal. 2-1 Dynamos.
65 minutes and Terry Griffiths picks up a loose ball and found Emmanuel Gbejuade. He moved forward, skipped a challenge and unleashed a curling effort which the Biggleswade keeper tipped over. Ollie Lemon came on to replace Junior Gyamfi with just over 20 minutes remaining, and within a couple of minutes, Biggleswade’s Manager was complaining to the referee who had just had enough and went to book him…more words were exchanged and the referee decided to send him off.
78 minutes and Dave Brown, back on after an injury, spread the ball to Jake Baldwin who again beat his man and sent in a lovely cross which Dan Lambeth was so close to converting. Less than 10 minutes left and Dave Brown won a foul on the left side. Ollie Lemon stepped up and sent a ball into the box with Dan Lambeth headed just wide.
83 minutes and more complaining by Biggleswade saw their No.9 in the book and Sin Binned for the remainder of the match. Some great interchanges between Jake Baldwin, Emmanuel Gbejuade and Alfi Touceda saw the latter swing a cross in which bobbled around and was cleared. Superb play by the Dynamos trio. As the match entered into injury time, the final action saw Ollie Lemon find Dave Brown and his shot went wide of the mark and the referee blew for full time.
