This was a pulsating game with chances galore and it was FC that dominated and got the only goal to become the first away team to win on Bedworth's 3G Pitch.
FC started well and had a number of half chances as the match ebbed and flowed. Gareth Price tried to chip the Bedworth keeper from 30 yards, then on 24 minutes the first real chance of the game, Sonny French burst forward past the home defence, cut the ball back for Lynton Goss but his shot was blocked by Tullin in the Bedworth defence. On 40 minutes French again broke clear and looked certain to score but was denied by Denham Hinds.
Jamie Rudd also had a chance as he danced through the defence only to shot wide
The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute when Aston Goss reacted quickly to a Jeanmal Prosper free kick that had hit Folkes, he pounced and slammed the ball home from 18 yards. FC were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Ben Stevens was sent off for what was later said to be an elbow in a challenge with Ben Steane. Even down to 10 FC dominated the rest of the game and never looked like losing the lead.
Bedworth did have one chance to level late on when Dubidat put Daniel Creaney clear but his shot was well wide of the target.
FC should have had a second in the dying minutes when Ben Bateman slid the ball to Lynton Goss but he fired against the left-hand post. There was an incident at the end of the game involving substitute Brian Haule in which a Bedworth player was shown a red card after the game had finished but all in all a great result for Aylesbury as they move into the Play off places.
