This weekend FC visit fourth from bottom Hanwell Town. Hanwell's Reynolds Field ground is actually in Perivale Lane, Perivale, Greenford. The "Geordies" moved to the Reynolds Field ground in 1981 after over twenty years playing at the Ealing Central Sports Ground. Floodlights were installed in 1989 and inaugurated with a match against Tottenham Hotspur, since then a stand and disabled facilities have been added. More recent additions to the ground include the newly built Bob Fisher Stand in honour of the current chairman who has been with the club for sixty years.
The club was formed in 1920 by a group of natives of Newcastle-upon-Tyne working in the area, who adopted the black and white stripes of Newcastle United as their colours. In November 2015, despite leading Hanwell Town to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup - the furthest the club have ever been, manager Phil Granville and assistant Dave Tilbury parted company with Hanwell after just six months in charge and with the club in 18th place. On 30 November 2015, returning to the side just a few months after leaving was Ray Duffy for a third spell as manager, assisted by Mark Adams.
The Moles have had mixed fortunes against Hanwell over the recent years. In our first encounter this term Hanwell came to Haywood Way and tooka point in a 2-2 draw with Lamar Simpson equalising in the last minute FC 2 - Hanwell Town 2. Last season's games were also both tight affairs. Early in the season FC went to Reynolds Fields and came away defeated 2-1 Hanwell Town 2 FC 1 and in the penultimate game last season FC just edged the home game 1-0 when again a last minute Danny Murphy strike from a direct free kick secured all three points FC 1 Hanwell Town 0
On the playing front Ryan O'Toole is still suspended. The only injury is Danny Murphy who is still out. Ben Bateman should return to the squad and there is likely to be the inclusion of a new defender if the paperwork goes through as expected this morning.
