This weekend we travel to the SkyEx Community Stadium in Hayes for the first game of the season and the first competitive game at the SkyEx.
Hayes & Yeading have had back to back relegations, In The 2015–16 season they finished second from bottom in the National League South despite the reappointment of Garry Haylock as manager, resulting in relegation to the Southern Football League Premier Division. Former Oxford United coach Mickey Lewis took the manager's reins for the 2016–17 season in the Southern League but dropped down to youth team duties in October after a poor run of form. Paul Hughes and Ritchie Hanlon were appointed as joint managers in November, joining from Kings Langley but they were then relegated from the Premier Division to complete their 3rd relegation in 5 seasons.
Despite this Hayes & Yeading today and Cambridge City on Tuesday will be a tough test for the new Moles side.
Manager Davis Haule has some tough selection decisions to make after an excellent pre season, he has a squad of 26 all eager to gain a starting spot. The only absentees will be Ben Stevens and injury doubts are Brian Haule and Aston Goss.
